Hey, came across your blog and like it. You have done a nice job organizing a lot of content. I signed up for updates, looking forward to following.
Thanks.
Mark
Hello… I came across your blog and read the whole thing… I never read more than a paragraph of something at once… Great job! I do have some questions if you have time. I am training for a half marathon in April and my goal is the same as yours – less than 1:45 – I am curious on what your training plan looked like. I have been using runnersworld.com and live in an area where I don’t have access to running coaches so I would love to hear how your week actually looked. Nice job on your Surf City Half Marathon – 1:46:37!!!
Thank you Candace! For Surf City half I was actually previously following a full marathon plan and then dropped down to the half so I wouldn’t recommend that approach (I used Pfitzinger’s 18/55 plan from his book Advanced Marathoning). I think the key to improving your half or full marathon time is to incorporate tempo and/or speed work at least weekly and also to have some of your long runs (not every one though) include a portion at race pace or tempo. Hope that helps! You can email me if you have any other questions. nwoyski at gmail.com
