I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as an Oiselle Ambassador for the 2013-2014 season! Oiselle is an up and coming (founded in 2007) fitness apparel company that is run by a group of women with a passion for running and taking chances. Their motto, “Run Fast. Take Chances.” conveys the message that runners should put it all out there, race their hearts out, and never doubt their ability to achieve their goals.
I first heard about Oiselle through Twitter, although there is no way for me to pinpoint when. An occasional chirp from the inter webs slowly turned into a chorus over the last year or two. At some point it was hard to ignore and I became curious. I checked out the website, figured out how to actually say their name (Oiselle is a french word for bird and is pronounced wa-zell), and realized that their ambassadors were not only all over the social media world, but also at races I was running. I recognized the Oiselle singlet at a couple of races I did and then when I flew to Oregon for the Eugene Marathon, I was connected with a large group of Oiselle ambassadors at a pre-race shake-out run.

Upon arriving at the Eugene shake-out run I was a bit nervous since I felt like the majority if the women were already connected through Oiselle. However, everyone was so incredibly welcoming and friendly that my nerves quickly disappeared and I spent the run chatting and getting to know some pretty incredible women. We shared some of our backgrounds and most of us shared our goals and wished each other luck. Come race day, some of us achieved those goals and some didn’t, and when I saw the women again at the after race party, I wasn’t ashamed that I had not reached my goal of qualifying for Boston because of the overwhelming reassurance I received from each and every person I told. I decided that weekend that I’d apply to be a part of this incredible team at the next opportunity.

Lucky for me, applications for Oiselle Ambassadors opened up shortly thereafter and even luckier, I was accepted. Of course, it wasn’t just this incredible community that drove me to apply – the clothes are also incredibly awesome. The bum wrap skirt is crazy cute and feminine and simultaneously functional, the Winona tank is adorable and super soft, and the origami top is incredibly unique and even more flattering. I can’t wait to add many more items to my collection!
Cheers to joining an awesome group of women who run fast and take chances!
Congratulations- exciting news!
Oiselle clothing is adorable. I think the first thing I ever saw was their running wedding dress right when they first started. I love the idea!
Congratulations!! I’ve never worn anything from Oiselle but have seen so many cute clothes on runners around the blogging world that it’s making me even more curious. I’m going to have to look for something to try!
