An Innovative Solution to Knee Pain

This is a sponsored post by Mirum Shopper. All opinions are my own.

As someone who often invites people (aka everyone I know) to join me for a race, including runners, non-runners, the young, the old, and everyone in between, I often hear the excuse “Running is bad for your knees” or “I have bad knees so I can’t run.” While it is true that 45% of running injuries relate to the knees, the problem isn’t usually the knee itself – it’s related to weak glutes, tight hips or overuse, not your knees themselves.

What about the myth that running is BAD for your knees? Well, it’s quite the opposite. Numerous studies have proven that weight bearing exercise (such as running), assist in preventing osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. The weight bearing exercise needs to be repetitive, like running is, in order for the cartilage around the knee to receive oxygen and nutrients.  A 2008 study by Stanford University found no more arthritis in runners compared to non-runners, regardless of running mileage. The bottom line: concern for your knees isn’t a reason to give up running!

However, there are people who do suffer from knee pain that can’t be fixed immediately by stretching, strengthening glutes or cutting back on training, and require physical therapy or other methods of recovery and relief, including knee braces. I myself, have suffered from knee pain, while training for Ironman CdA. The only solution I could find at the time was rest and ice – what I was missing was the compression portion of the (RICE formula). When WholeYou reached out to me to review their Dynamover knee compression sleeve, I jumped on board becuase I’ve heard the story of knee pain too many times and know that I would have used it myself during Ironman training, had I had the chance. Plus the discount they were offering for my readers was pretty amazing!

What is Dynamover?

Dynamover is a one of a kind knee brace with Active Comfort Weaving Technology. With a unique, seamless five zone design, it provides different levels of compression to different areas of the knee. You get the comfort, support and flexibility that allows you to move more so you can maximize your potential.  There are six different sizes to ensure that the brace fits you perfectly.

Dynamover’s Unique Five Zone Design

The Dynamover knee brace has five zones, each of which has it’s own purpose:

 ·       Zone 1 provides high stretch for strong compression around the patella to support the knee.

·       In Zone 2, the moderate stretch allows flexibility around the thigh and knee.

·       To prevent slip-down during even the most active exercises, Zone 3 has an elastic weave.

·       On the back of the knee, Zone 4 has a high density weave to stabilize the knee.

·       And Zone 5 delivers exceptional breathability and flexibility thanks to the honeycomb weave.

When I tried on the brace myself, I found it incredibly comfortable! It fit snug but I was able to move very freely – I barely felt like it was on at all.

Dynamover sent me a knee brace to try on and review and I was compensated for this post. These thoughts and opinions are my own. As always, I make a promise to my readers to only share my honest thoughts and opinions and only select sponsored posts that are in line with my interests.
