Just about a year ago, I took a leap and became a Beachbody coach. As a huge fan of the products, particularly P90X and 21 Day Fix, and someone who is pretty addicted to fitness, it wasn’t too much of a stretch, but a lot of things scared me about it. I had a lot of fears when I became a Beachbody Coach, including: Would my friends and family defriend/unfollow/avoid me because they thought I’d be trying to sell them something all the time? Would I have time to dedicate to my business while working a full time job and being a mom? Do I even have time to do these workouts on top of half marathon and marathon training? Would I be embarrassed to share that I was part of a networking marketing company? Would people want to listen to me about fitness though I wasn’t in perfect shape and I really like ice cream, pizza and beer? Would the fact that I have absolutely no sales training or experience hurt me? Would my blog and social media followers think that my content was no longer genuine? What if NO ONE wanted to join my accountability groups? What if I failed? What if I wasted my time?
Well, it’s been a year since I became a Beachbody Coach and a lot has happened. All of the fears I had were washed away. I’ve helped hundreds of people achieve health and fitness goals, I’ve connected with old friends and made new ones, I’ve taken my own health and fitness to a new level with just 30 minute workouts, I’ve learned more about business in a year than I did working in some of my corporate accounting jobs, and honestly, if anyone unfriended me, I didn’t notice or care. Instead of facing the scrutiny or negativity that I feared, I’ve received nothing but positivity, hope and inspiration. Becoming a coach has not only helped me change the lives of others, but it has changed my life.
Most importantly, becoming a Beachbody Coach allowed me to leave my full-time job as a in corporate finance and work part time so that I can spend 10x as much quality time with my now 18 month old daughter Siena. I do have another part-time job that helps support our family, but I would not have left my job if I didn’t also have my Beachbody income to rely on. Plus, as I learned more about the income structure, I knew that with time my Beachbody income would grow (and it has – it has tripled since I quit my full time job last August), and that would allow our family to save more, continue to enjoy some of the luxuries we were used to while I worked full-time in my well-paying job, and hopefully, in the long run, allow me to earn an income from Beachbody that is even higher than the one I had before while working part-time, from home, as my own boss. I never want to miss a milestone becuase I had meeting or it was month-end close.
One thing I always struggled with in my accounting/finance career was passion. Someone wise once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” and that is how I feel about Beachbody. It truly doesn’t’ feel like work 90% of the time. There are some administrative tasks that aren’t that exciting, but overall, I spend my time building relationships, connecting with the people who are going through my monthly challenge groups, blogging and/or posting to social media, working on my own personal development through reading, YouTube videos, and calls & trainings put on by the coaches on my team. I now have my OWN team of coaches, all of whom I call friends now. Oh, and I get paid to workout – hello, dream job!

I’m making it all sound easy. It’s not always easy – there are hard moments too. But those tough moments have created opportunities for personal growth for myself. That is how I have become and will continue to be successful in this business – because instead of quitting when things are hard, I keep going. I don’t have this business figured out – not at all, but I keep learning. Honestly, if I ever do figure it out, I’ll probably be bored, but given the dynamics of this career, I don’t think that’ll happen.
While a full-time income IS possible in Beachbody, it doesn’t come overnight, just like any business. When most people start their own business, it takes YEARS to break even. With Beachbody, your only cost is a $15.95 a month coaching fee to cover the free website they give you to process your orders (most businesses pay at least 3% in credit card processing fees alone!). With that, you get 30% off the products, so it pays for itself if you are a believer in the products (as I am). You can make a profit your first DAY as a coach – how cool is that!? Plus, you still get some cool perks for working for a corporation – like free gear for hitting basic goals each month, money toward annual trips (Punta Cana this year, Mexico next year, my trip will be 100% paid for if I attend next year) and SO much free training. This company WANTS you to succeed.
Do you have an interest in becoming your own boss, creating your own work schedule, and getting paid to workout and share your journey with others? If so, coaching could be a great opportunity for you as well. You don’t have to have a blog or a social media following to get started (in fact, the top coaching our network only had 100 Facebook friends and no Instagram or twitter account when she first started out). You don’t have to have experience in sales or fitness coaching (the workout programs are created by world class trainers – your job is to support people through them). You don’t have to be in perfect shape (no one is and people relate to REAL people, not perfect ones!). It doesn’t have to be the PERFECT time and you don’t have to dedicate hours each day (30-60 minutes a day on average is normal for a new coach).
You just have to share. You have to be willing to learn (the resources are unlimited – you just have to have the desire to take advantage) and the more effort you put into the business, the more successful you will be. Many coaches simply use this as an opportunity to earn additional income to pay off loans, save for a big trip or pay for diapers. Other coaches use this as a chance to create TRUE financial freedom. Some are in the middle. Either way, the opportunity is here for you if you want it!

If you join my team, you will be personally mentored by me and you will also get access to my entire team’s resources, which includes new coach training, business advancement trainings, and more. I will co-host your first accountability group with you and be available when you need me for any questions.

How would you describe your dream job?
Pretty sure Confucius did not say that. http://quoteinvestigator.com/2014/09/02/job-love/
