What It Takes to be a Successful Beachbody Coach From Day 1

Today I want to share with you what exactly it takes to be a successful Beachbody coach. I have just passed my 4 year coaching mark and I’ve had my share of failures along with successes and I’ve learned a whole lot along the way. Back when I first started, I was scared of failure and scared of what others would think. I also assumed that an incredible coach would come into my team and help me bring my income and business to the next level.

I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to be a successful Beachbody Coach!

It wasn’t until I realized that I had to take my business into my OWN hands that these “rockstar coaches” would come to me. No one will build your business FOR you, no matter what some stereotypes of multi-level marketing may presume that you can get lucky by finding someone under you to do the work. You must take ownership, be consistent and put in the work. The beauty of this is that you get to build a business on YOUR terms, on YOUR schedule and according to YOUR goals. There is complete freedom and if you love fitness the way that I do, you’ll LOVE the journey.

Some of the coaches on our team at a team retreat

2 years ago I decided to start treating my Beachbody coaching business like a business instead of a hobby and I set a huge goal – to become an Elite coach, the top leadership tier in the company. As of last week, we have entered Elite qualification (it’ll be official August 27th!) and a big reason we did that was because of a new coach on my team, Sheila, who achieved the rank of Diamond coach (only 1% of coaches ever achieve this title) in 16 short days. When she did this, Team Run the World became a 5 Star Diamond team, the final qualification we needed to become an Elite team.

To give you some perspective – Diamond took me 1.5 years to achieve and the fastest anyone else on my team had achieved it was 11 months.

So what did Sheila do to be a Beachbody success story?

To give you a little background on Shiela. She is mom of two year old twins and gained a lot of weight during her infertility journey leading up to her IVF pregnancy. The years after her twins were born were incredibly hard and lonely for her. She joined Beachbody to do something for HER after spending many years giving everything to others.

What It Takes to be a Successful Beachbody Coach From Day 1

  1. Belief. A successful Beachbody coach believes wholeheartedly in our programs. Sheila knows that our programs work and that people will be better off if they have them in their life. She hasn’t done all the programs and probably never will (I havne’t either!) and she doesn’t have to like every single product, but she has to believe that her customers will be successful with them.
  2. An “All In” Mindset. I recently spoke with a new coach on Instagram who had joined another team. She told me she was “dipping her pinky toe in.” I gave her the unsolicited advice to jump all in. When you “test coaching out” you will fail – because you aren’t all in and people sense that in your confidence, you won’t consistently show up on social media and build trust with your audience and you will not be confident in your private conversations. Once Sheila shared her coach announcement post on social media, she went all in and never turned back.
  3. Coachability. Sheila had a lot of great feedback after she shared her transformation photo. She had NO idea what to do next but she had a system to follow. I have created systems for my new and current team members to use to help make it a simple as possible for them to have conversations with people and enroll new customers. Sheila followed my instructions, communicated consistently with me and asked questions.

Watch this short video from Sheila to learn more about her experience becoming a coach on my team, Team Run the World and being mentored by me.

How Much Money Can a New Beachbody Coach Make in Their First Month?

Sheila not only advanced to Emerald coach in her first 2 days, but she covered the cost of her own products in her first paycheck. She then went on to achieve Diamond in 16 days and earn over $800* in her first month while home with two year old twins! I see BIG things for Shiela as she continues to learn and develop into a leader. On the flip side, I’ve had coaches who let fear stand in their way and earn $0 in the first month. You must take action to earn but the amount of action is within your control.

Helping Others as a Coach is Fulfilling

If you ask Sheila, she will tell you that it’s not about the income or recognition – Sheila genuinely is passionate about helping the women she has enrolled in her accountability groups and on her team. She has a huge heart and I’ve already seen how much happier she is.

Everyone will have their own path when it comes to coaching. I recognize that everyone has their own goals and their own pace and comes in with different skill sets, background and experiences. But I truly believe that anyone who loves health and fitness, has a growth mindset and is willing to learn, grow and be consistent can and WILL be successful.
